Position Overview:

We are currently seeking Critical Care Technicians to join our esteemed Critical Care Service team.

Role Responsibilities:

As a Critical Care Technician, you will play a vital role in the triage and stabilization of patients requiring hospitalization. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assessing and managing incoming cases, including phone inquiries and walk-ins.
  • Performing thorough patient restraint for examinations and procedures.
  • Understanding various medical conditions and implementing appropriate treatment protocols.
  • Collecting and processing laboratory specimens, conducting automated and manual tests, and interpreting results.
  • Providing comprehensive nursing care, including monitoring vital signs and administering nutrition.
  • Executing venipuncture and catheter placements, both peripheral and central.
  • Carrying out emergency procedures, including airway management and oxygen therapy.
  • Assisting in surgical preparations and post-operative care for minor procedures.
  • Facilitating patient admissions and discharges, along with effective client communication.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the ICU and isolation equipment.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, candidates must possess:
  • A valid certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT/RVT) or Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT).
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience in a veterinary setting.
  • Preferred specialization in Emergency and Critical Care (VTS in ECC).
  • Strong physical capability to handle and restrain animals.
  • Proficiency in performing veterinary medical procedures and effective patient assessment.
  • Excellent communication skills for collaboration with veterinary staff and client education.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Compensation:

The hourly wage for this position ranges from $40.00, commensurate with experience.
