Job Description

Overview

The Veterinary Behavior Center is seeking an experienced Practice Manager to support our growing business. As a key member of our management team, you will play a crucial role in maximizing operational efficiencies, team talent, and clinical and business outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Financial Management: Oversee financial operations, including bookkeeping, accounts receivable, P&Ls, COGs, KPI tracking, program analysis, proformas, billing, budgeting, and maintaining the Chart of Accounts.
  • Facilities and Resource Management: Ensure the upkeep and repairs of our building and property, coordinate with contractors and vendors, and evaluate needs for technological upgrades.
  • Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day functioning of the clinic, including mastery and troubleshooting of software platforms, identifying and project managing workflow alterations, clinical schedule management, SOP development and maintenance, program management, event planning and execution.
  • Regulatory, Liability, and Safety Oversight: Ensure compliance with OSHA and DEA standards, develop protocols, maintain insurance, and conduct audits.
  • People Management: Collaborate with the Practice Owner on hiring and firing, manage onboarding and offboarding, maintain employee files, participate in performance evaluations and disciplinary actions, administer benefits, process payroll, and ensure compliance with HR laws.
  • Inventory and Pharmacy Management: Compare prices, order supplies, set prices, track inventory, and develop relationships with vendors.
  • Marketing: Participate in marketing efforts, including in-person, virtual, and written materials, and maintain our website.
  • Team Support: Cross-train in multiple positions to provide backup support to the team.

Prior Experience

  • Three years of practice management in a veterinary clinic preferred, fewer years or alternative management experience considered
  • CVPM or CVPM eligible candidate preferred
  • Some experience working with animals preferred
  • Restraint and phlebotomy experience preferred
