Position Overview:

AECOM is looking for a Senior Tunnel Ventilation Specialist to join our dynamic team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to specific segments of broader engineering projects under the guidance of senior engineers.
  • Collects and analyzes fundamental engineering data using established protocols.
  • Engages in detailed engineering tasks that involve calculations and straightforward testing procedures.
  • Develops strategies to address new challenges by adapting standard methods from previous projects.
  • Identifies and resolves discrepancies in engineering results.
  • Mentors junior engineers, providing them with essential guidance.
  • Ensures project deliverables are completed within the defined budget and timeline with minimal oversight.
  • Independently executes all necessary tasks to finalize primary design components for engineering projects.
  • Demonstrates a solid foundation of experience in a professional engineering role.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with a minimum of four years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, with demonstrated expertise in mechanical ventilation design; a Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Proficient in designing mechanical ventilation systems through engineering calculations and the preparation of design documentation.
  • Skilled in conducting computational flow analysis for tunnel ventilation systems.
  • Familiar with industry-standard software tools such as SES, CFD, and FDS.
  • Experience with CAD and REVIT software.
  • Knowledgeable in the selection and installation of ventilation equipment.
  • Understanding of fan systems and control mechanisms.
  • Acquainted with fire life safety regulations and standards (NFPA, AMCA, ASHRAE).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in common office software.
  • Self-driven and adept at performing calculations while ensuring high-quality output.
  • Proven ability to work within project timelines and budgetary limits.
  • A strong desire to collaborate with AECOM's various divisions and engage directly with key clients.
  • Possession of a Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • Effective communication skills necessary for client interactions.
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams is crucial for this position.
  • Ensures the precision of design and contractual documents.
