Overview:

This role serves as a key connection between the Information Management (IM) Department and various Hospital departments, carrying managerial responsibilities for applications that facilitate these operations. The position is tasked with the implementation, maintenance, and oversight of information management systems and standards that support the clinical, business, and educational functions of the organization. This encompasses systems such as Workday, UKG, Hyland OnBase, among others. The Applications Support team is also charged with ensuring comprehensive IM service delivery to all user groups.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Designs, executes, and evaluates Information Management service delivery for all user groups, ensuring exceptional service standards for all users of the designated IM-supported systems.
  • Leads the implementation and upkeep of assigned applications, monitoring their performance to guarantee high standards of system efficiency and availability; drives process enhancements to achieve these goals.
  • Facilitates regular discussions with user groups to communicate the overarching IT vision of the Hospital and progress regarding set priorities, while also collecting user feedback on IM performance and potential enhancements.
  • Oversees operational plans and projects aligned with the objectives of the Information Management Department.
  • Manages the introduction of new systems, engaging in product selection, project oversight, and communication strategies.
  • Defines and refines methodologies and practices for application lifecycle management, aligning with best practices and continuous improvement experiences.
  • Tracks and reports deviations from project and operational budgets.
  • Provides strategic insights to assist the organization in effectively managing information through process improvement and re-engineering techniques.
  • Acts as the primary contact for application software vendors, ensuring they meet their service obligations.
  • Supervises the performance of key consulting teams engaged in applications support and various projects.
  • Organizes feedback from user groups to inform the strategic capital budgeting process.
  • Implements and assesses improvements within the Applications Support Team as per departmental enhancement guidelines.
  • Ensures adherence to departmental project management standards, overseeing the successful completion of critical applications projects and upgrades.
  • Manages personnel within the application group, fostering their skills and capabilities to meet organizational needs while enhancing recruitment capabilities to address emerging requirements and skills gaps.
  • Implements and evaluates compliance with customer service standards for the Applications Support Team.
  • Ensures compliance with Joint Commission and HIPAA standards for the Applications Support Team.
  • Possesses the authority to hire, separate, promote, demote, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or a related field.
  • Preferred: At least two years of leadership experience in applications implementation or support.
  • Preferred: A minimum of three years of experience in software project management, business process analysis, or applications support.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and organizational capabilities; proven track record in team development and fostering collaboration.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey information clearly and effectively.
  • Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse groups within the medical center.
  • Proficient project management skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with personal computers and Microsoft Windows operating systems and applications.
  • Adept at managing and prioritizing multiple projects while working effectively with minimal supervision.
