OBJECTIVE: The Chicago Lighthouse is a distinguished social service organization dedicated to supporting the blind, visually impaired, disabled, and Veteran communities. Established in 1906, The Chicago Lighthouse is recognized for its innovative approaches, providing vision rehabilitation services, educational programs, employment opportunities, and assistive technology for individuals of all ages. Our mission is to enhance communication and optimize support systems for customer-facing organizations.

The Head of Business Growth collaborates closely with the Senior Vice President of Operations and other key leadership members to propel organizational expansion in line with The Chicago Lighthouse's strategic objectives. This role is pivotal in identifying and pursuing new sales avenues for our innovative products and services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for crafting and implementing a sales strategy aimed at driving revenue growth, establishing robust relationships with clients, and promoting our offerings to both new and existing customers.

The Head of Business Growth will significantly contribute to strategic planning, marketing initiatives, long-term business development, relationship management, client prospecting, budgeting/forecasting, and resource allocation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Formulate and implement a sales strategy to meet revenue growth objectives.
  • Identify and engage new sales prospects through networking and outreach.
  • Foster and maintain strong relationships with current clients to facilitate cross-selling opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product development, marketing, and customer success, to ensure a cohesive customer experience.
  • Create and present persuasive sales presentations and proposals.
  • Monitor leads in CRM and generate sales reports to evaluate performance.
  • Lead innovation initiatives, including:
    • Conducting market research to identify new opportunities and customer needs.
    • Effectively acquiring and retaining clients by advocating for the organization's products.
  • Oversee sales performance, production, and lead generation efforts.
  • Support marketing strategies for the social business enterprise team, focusing on financial performance, quality, and customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a passionate ambassador for The Lighthouse's mission to serve the blind, visually impaired, disabled, and Veteran communities.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field.
  • 7-10 years of B2B sales experience, ideally within a similar sector or focused on innovative product sales.
  • Demonstrated success in meeting or surpassing sales targets.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the sales process, from lead generation to deal closure.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a talent for building strong client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and sales reporting tools.
  • Knowledge of Ability One and Federal programs, as well as state use contracts.
  • Ability to assess the impact of operational initiatives from a sales perspective.
  • Willingness to travel, including overnight trips as necessary.
  • Self-driven and comfortable working independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of effectively engaging with management and cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to cultivate lasting relationships with clients.
