Unit Description:
The 3 South nursing unit at Medina Hospital is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. This 32-bed unit focuses on general medical-surgical care for adult and geriatric patients, with a strong emphasis on observation and treatment of various conditions such as pneumonia, diabetes, and COPD exacerbation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care in alignment with established policies and protocols.
- Monitor and document patient conditions, ensuring effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Evaluate and adjust care plans to meet patient needs and achieve desired outcomes.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary efforts to ensure seamless patient care.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, adhering to nursing standards.
- Assess educational needs of patients and provide appropriate teaching materials.
- Maintain professional development through ongoing education and clinical practice.
Qualifications:
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred.
- Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
- Prior experience in acute care settings is essential.
