Position: Senior Accountant
Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM
Location: In-Office, Edison, NJ
The Senior Accountant position is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing daily financial transactions and reporting directly to the Controller of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Controller on the month-end closing process.
- Conduct analysis, reconciliation, and reporting of various balance sheet accounts.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
- Manage credit card reconciliations.
- Oversee intercompany reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with sales tax regulations and filings.
- Support the Controller during financial audits and coordinate with both internal and external auditors.
- Assist in inventory accounting, including physical counts and variance analysis.
- Help establish and maintain internal controls, including the documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
- Possess a working knowledge of Trade Promotions Management and chargebacks, which is advantageous.
- Engage in various ad hoc projects as assigned by the Controller.
- Exhibit a strong sense of urgency and the ability to multitask effectively.
- Experience in manufacturing cost accounting is a plus.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience is required.
- CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, including technical accounting, audit support, and financial controls.
- Knowledge of U.S. GAAP accounting is required; familiarity with IFRS is preferred.
- Experience with financial accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, Dynamics 365, SAP, QuickBooks) is essential.
- Experience in the food and beverage import and distribution industry is considered a plus.
