About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant I to join our team at Hackensack Meridian Health. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial statements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Prepare, analyze, and review financial statements using accounting principles for the Hackensack Meridian Health network.
  • Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts from the general ledger and prepare journal entries and month-end reports.
  • Financial Analysis: Identify complex accounting problems, research solutions, and correct problems.
  • Financial Reporting: Examine financial statements and documents for conformance with accounting requirements and principles.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: May have lead responsibility for special projects and participate in all levels of accounting activities within the finance department.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant area of study or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in accounting.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, highly organized self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proficient computer skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior Experience: Prior hospital or healthcare experience.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of PeopleSoft Financials.
Licenses and Certifications
  • Certification: Certified Public Accountant.
