  • Monday - Friday
  • Day shift

Compensation: Starting at $25/hour for Credentialed Technicians, with experienced Credentialed Technicians earning between $28 and $32/hour, based on skill level.


Role Overview:
The primary objective of this role is to assist the Specialist in delivering exceptional patient care through diagnostics, treatments, and procedures. The Veterinary Technician is expected to uphold high standards of cleanliness and care while effectively communicating with both doctors and colleagues to ensure optimal patient outcomes.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Specialist with incoming consultations and procedures, ensuring efficient management of appointment schedules.
  • Coordinate diagnostics and procedures with Imaging and Anesthesia services.
  • Provide nursing support for treatment or diagnostic requests.
  • Conduct patient assessments, including obtaining vital signs, IVC placement, phlebotomy, intubations, and administering injections.
  • Accurately record and communicate patient information in medical records.
  • Maintain a clean and comfortable environment for all patients.
  • Set up and maintain necessary equipment, demonstrating knowledge of monitoring and diagnostic tools.
  • Safely restrain patients as required.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by the veterinary team.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens for testing.
  • Assist with patient euthanasia and aftercare in a compassionate manner.
  • Perform routine tasks such as suture removals, ear cleaning, and nail trims.
  • Provide basic client education on nutrition, home care, and post-operative care.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in specialty department areas.
  • Train and mentor less experienced staff on procedures and technical skills.
  • Cross-train to assist in various areas of the hospital as needed.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting.
  • Proficient in all key responsibilities of a Veterinary Technician.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and sanitation practices.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and veterinary equipment.
  • Ability to calculate dosages and administer injections accurately.
  • Understanding of CPR and emergency response techniques.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Good personal hygiene and grooming standards.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to fostering a positive workplace culture.
  • Ability to handle animals safely and effectively.

Education Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Bachelor's degree and/or Veterinary Technician Certification preferred.
