Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Veterinary Technician to join our Emergency/ICU team at Ethos Veterinary Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide primary support to our ER doctors with any and all treatments and procedures, ensuring the best quality of care possible to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide care to incoming emergencies and hospitalized patients, including triage, patient assessment, vital data collection, and administration of treatments and medications.
  • Administer basic first aid, provide stabilization support, and document patient information accurately.
  • Communicate patient status and changes in status to doctors and other team members.
  • Maintain clean and comfortable surroundings for patients, and set up and maintain equipment as needed.
  • Collect, prepare, and label laboratory specimens, and provide assistance with patient euthanasia and aftercare.
  • Provide basic client education on nutrition, home care, and medication administration.
  • Re-stock and maintain cleanliness of ICU, treatment area, and other hospital areas.
  • Train less experienced staff members on proper policies, procedures, and technical skills.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Certified Veterinary Technician.
  • Ability to perform all key responsibilities of a Technician Assistant.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and acceptable sanitation/sterilization practices.
  • Comprehension of commonly used medical terminology and equipment.
  • Ability to calculate accurate dosages and injections.
  • Familiarity with CPR and rescue breathing.
  • Ability to work with and without direct supervision.
  • Capability to kneel, bend, and lift various sizes of animals without assistance.
