Job Summary:
The Overnight Veterinary Technician plays a crucial role in supporting emergency veterinarians during night shifts. This position is essential for delivering high-quality care to our patients in critical situations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide immediate care to incoming emergency cases and hospitalized patients.
  • Conduct triage and patient assessments, including obtaining vital signs and placing intravenous catheters.
  • Perform phlebotomy, intubations, and administer injections as required.
  • Assist in radiology and laboratory procedures, as well as basic anesthesia tasks.
  • Administer first aid and monitor critical care patients effectively.
  • Document patient information accurately in medical records and communicate updates to the veterinary team.
  • Maintain a clean and comfortable environment for all patients.
  • Prepare and administer medications as prescribed by veterinarians.
  • Educate clients on post-operative care and general animal health.
  • Train and mentor less experienced staff on veterinary procedures and protocols.

Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting.
  • Proficient in performing the essential duties of a Veterinary Technician.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and veterinary equipment.
  • Ability to calculate dosages and perform emergency procedures.
  • Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and in emergency situations.

Education:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree or Veterinary Technician Certification.
