Position Summary:
Ethos Veterinary Health is seeking a passionate and skilled Veterinary Technician to support our Oncology department. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional care to our patients while assisting the Specialist in various diagnostic and treatment procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Specialist with consultations and procedures, ensuring a smooth workflow.
- Coordinate with Imaging and Anesthesia services for diagnostics and treatments.
- Provide nursing support for treatment requests and administer injectable chemotherapeutics as needed.
- Collect and process laboratory samples, including blood and urine.
- Utilize imaging modalities for patient evaluation and treatment.
- Monitor and recover patients from sedation and anesthesia.
- Maintain accurate patient records and communicate effectively with the medical team.
- Ensure a clean and safe environment for all patients.
- Prepare and administer medications as prescribed.
- Educate clients on care protocols and nutrition.
- Train and mentor junior staff members.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a veterinary setting.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures.
- Ability to perform calculations for dosages and injections accurately.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
- Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
