Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Registration Specialist to join our team at Waterbury Hospital. As a key member of our registration department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth and efficient registration process for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify patient demographics and insurance information to ensure accurate billing and registration processes.
  • Communicate with patients and families to educate them on hospital policies and procedures, including estimated self-pay balances and financial assistance programs.
  • Collect and process patient payments, including point-of-service collections and follow-up on outstanding balances.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless registration and billing processes.
  • Utilize analytical skills to prioritize workload and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to patients, families, and healthcare staff.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • At least two years of experience in a hospital or medical setting, with a focus on patient registration and billing.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records systems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
