Job Summary:

The Registration Specialist is responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient completion of patient registration and billing procedures. This role requires strong communication and customer service skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Registration and Billing: Ensure accurate and complete patient registration and billing information, including demographic and insurance data.
  • Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service to patients, physicians, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and staff to ensure accurate and complete information is obtained and processed.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and resolve issues related to patient registration and billing, escalating complex problems to leadership as needed.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient registration and billing processes.

Requirements:

  • Education: High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least two years of experience in a hospital, physician's office, or other medical setting with emphasis on patient registration and billing.
  • Skills: Strong communication and customer service skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and proficiency in computer software and systems.
  • Knowledge: Comprehensive knowledge of hospital billing, third-party collection requirements, and credit and collection policies.

Working Conditions:

The Registration Specialist will work in a business office environment, accessing information from various sources, systems, and media. Physical requirements include some lifting, walking, pushing, pulling, bending, and standing.
