Position Overview

Salary: $63,500+ DOE

Department: Operations

Classification: Full-Time, Salaried, Exempt

Location: Flexible (requires a home base at one of our campus locations, with travel to other campuses as necessary)

Key Responsibilities:

The Director of Operations plays a crucial role in fulfilling the mission and vision of Mount Pleasant Community Church by overseeing the integrity of business functions in finance, human resources, compliance, and project management.

Core Duties:Business Management
  1. Provide strategic leadership for daily operations, ensuring effective management of finances, human resources, and IT.
  2. Collaborate with the Executive Pastor to prepare and share monthly financial reports with the Trustee Team.
  3. Guarantee operational excellence by overseeing insurance, legal matters, and banking relationships.
  4. Ensure compliance with church regulations and governmental laws at all levels.
  5. Lead the annual budgeting process for all departments.
  6. Act as the primary gatekeeper for financial and HR processes alongside the Executive Pastor and Trustees.
Facilities and IT Oversight
  1. Offer strategic guidance for maintenance, capital projects, and asset management in partnership with campus facilities staff.
  2. Collaborate with IT consultants to ensure effective implementation and maintenance of business systems.
Human Resources Management
  1. Oversee HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, performance evaluations, and compliance.
Leadership Engagement
  1. Facilitate the annual performance review process for staff.
  2. Manage projects and support staff teams to achieve ministry goals.
  3. Supervise Operations and Facilities teams to align resources with the church's vision.
  4. Recruit and train the Crisis Response Volunteer Team.
  5. Participate in staff and departmental meetings as required.
  6. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor.
  7. Regularly meet with the Executive Pastor to discuss ministry strengths and areas for improvement.
Accountability:

The Director of Operations reports directly to the Executive Pastor and will undergo an initial review after 90 days, followed by annual performance evaluations. Compensation is reviewed annually by the Elder Board and Trustee Team.

Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor's degree in business management, accounting, or a related field.
  2. Experience in business management, finance, or facility oversight.
  3. Proven experience in staff supervision.
  4. Familiarity with financial and database management software.
  5. Strong proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks.
  6. Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  7. Outstanding communication abilities, both written and verbal.
  8. Commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards.
  9. Innovative thinking to enhance systems and processes.
  10. Knowledge of insurance, banking, and legal requirements for non-profit organizations.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range of $63,500+ Depending on Experience
