Position Overview:
This Senior Water Treatment Engineer role is part of the Treatment Plant Program Management team and represents an advanced level position. The individual will oversee, direct, and coordinate various capital and operational projects related to water treatment.

Key Responsibilities:
The Engineer will manage daily operations of water treatment projects, assist in the development of project proposals, and lead planning and scoping studies. Responsibilities also include securing project authorization and funding through the appropriate processes.

The role requires monitoring and controlling project scope, timelines, and budgets. The Engineer will collaborate with both internal and external stakeholders, coordinate environmental assessments, and prepare technical and management reports using standard software applications.

Additional Duties:
In addition to the primary responsibilities, the Engineer will engage in other project management initiatives and evaluations as necessary to support the goals of the Metropolitan Water District.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field with six years of experience, including two years at the Associate Engineer level; or a Master's degree with four years of experience, including two years at the Associate Engineer level.

Relevant Experience:
Experience in managing capital projects, leading multi-disciplinary teams, and expertise in design, construction, or project management for facility upgrades and repairs.

Licenses and Certifications:
A valid California Class C Driver's License or equivalent is required, along with a current license as a California Professional Engineer.
