Position Overview

We are seeking a meticulous Senior Manager of Fundraising Events to become a vital member of our enthusiastic fundraising team. The successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational abilities, creativity, and outstanding communication skills. In this capacity, you will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of a variety of events throughout the year, ensuring a flawless and unforgettable experience for participants while aligning with our brand's vision to empower youth in transforming their lives.

This role will involve significant collaboration with The King's Trust USA and all affiliated charities globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of all aspects of designated fundraising events for The King's Trust USA, including sponsorship acquisition, auction item procurement, budget oversight, vendor negotiations, database management, and donor relations.
  • Innovate and develop new event concepts while achieving revenue targets for existing events.
  • Take overall responsibility for revenue growth associated with designated events.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of complex fundraising events.
  • Act as the primary team leader for specific events, providing guidance and direction to team members.
  • Manage the complete event execution process from conception to completion, demonstrating independence and resourcefulness.
  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders by collaborating on event objectives and strategies, while establishing timelines for event management.
  • Utilize existing industry connections with vendors (venues, audiovisual, food and beverage, floral, decor, etc.) while remaining informed about new market offerings.
  • Negotiate and review vendor contracts and fees, presenting them to senior management for approval.
  • Oversee all event budgets, ensuring adherence to financial deadlines and post-event reconciliations.
  • Source and secure items for silent and live auctions for fundraising events.
  • Manage all event materials, including sponsorship presentations, save-the-dates, invitations, and programs.
  • Utilize Salesforce CRM to manage events, including generating reports, managing lists, tracking RSVPs, updating guest biographies, and ensuring data accuracy.
  • Develop and maintain event timelines, communicating deadlines and responsibilities to key stakeholders as necessary.
  • Create post-event reports to evaluate ROI, attendance, and participant feedback to enhance future events.
  • Collaborate closely with the communications team to implement the agreed-upon strategic approach to event themes, branding, messaging, social media strategies, and post-event communications.
  • Employ status reports and work-back plans to monitor key milestones throughout the planning process.
  • Proactively introduce tools and processes to elevate event planning standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree; CMP certification is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in planning charitable fundraising events.
  • Strong organizational skills, project management capabilities, and time management proficiency to effectively handle multiple tasks and details. A deep understanding of fundraising events is essential, along with proven ability to manage and execute multiple events concurrently. Advanced Excel skills are a plus.
  • Creativity in brainstorming and implementing innovative event concepts that align with our brand.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with internal and external partners, senior leadership, vendors, and attendees. A calm demeanor and strong presence are crucial, especially in high-pressure situations.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to manage conflicting priorities and challenging personalities, with the ability to adapt to changes during events.
  • Proficiency in budget planning and management, ensuring events are cost-effective and meet or exceed expected ROI.
  • Experience in successfully negotiating contracts and agreements with vendors and suppliers.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends, as dictated by event schedules.
  • Willingness to travel as required.

Additional Information

  • This role requires a presence in our New York City office at least four days a week, with flexibility during summer and holiday periods. Ability to travel within the U.S. is essential.
  • This position reports directly to the Director of Events and Corporate Partnerships and requires adherence to company policies as outlined in the employee manual and internal communications.
