About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Manager of Events to join our team at Robin Hood. As a key member of our Events Team, you will be responsible for planning and executing a diverse portfolio of events, including dinners, conferences, and special gatherings, all designed to support our fundraising objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and execute a diverse portfolio of events, including dinners, conferences, and special gatherings, all designed to support Robin Hood's fundraising objectives.
  • Oversee project plans to ensure seamless execution and alignment with overall goals.
  • Oversee logistical aspects, including venue research, vendor contracting, production coordination, and event management.
  • Ensure fulfillment of event sponsorship activations, meeting sponsor commitments and maximizing brand visibility to support fundraising.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact with vendors, including venues, caterers, and audiovisual teams, to ensure smooth and efficient event execution.
  • Develop staffing plans, lead pre-event briefings, and prepare materials to ensure team alignment and readiness.
  • Collaborate across Development units, including fundraising, marketing, and Development Operations teams, to support deliverables and keep stakeholders informed.
  • Create and maintain logistical documents such as run-of-show schedules, load-in plans, emergency preparedness strategies, and seating charts to ensure flawless execution.
  • Participate actively in event setup, breakdown, registration, and vendor coordination while maintaining high standards of quality and detail.
  • Conduct post-event evaluations, including budget reconciliation and data analysis, to assess performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Work effectively with the events team on larger-scale events, ensuring alignment with fundraising goals.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and continuously enhance the effectiveness of Robin Hood events.
  • Adapt to the fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities while focusing on achieving fundraising outcomes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Event Management, Hospitality, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in event management with a proven track record of independently managing a wide range of events, from small gatherings to large conferences, with a focus on supporting fundraising objectives.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with diverse stakeholders and build strong relationships.
  • Experience in fulfilling and managing sponsorship activations for events.
  • Knowledge of venues and event spaces in New York City and Florida.
  • Experience in creating agendas and programming for conferences and engagement events with a focus on delivering impactful and well-structured programs.
  • Ability to manage events from inception to completion while contributing effectively to team efforts.
  • Proficiency in event management software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.
  • Willingness to be hands-on, adaptable, and resourceful while maintaining a professional demeanor and understanding the critical role of events in fundraising.
  • Highly effective interpersonal and relational skills, including a demonstrated ability to work successfully across complex, matrixed teams and with roles at multiple levels.
  • Embraces ambiguity and has a willingness to 'roll up their sleeves.'
  • High degree of self-awareness, humility, and diplomacy.
  • Sense of humor and skillful listener.

Salary and Benefits

Salary commensurate with relevant experience and qualifications. Robin Hood also offers a full and competitive benefits package that includes medical, dental and vision insurance, generous retirement contributions, eligibility to participate in paid medical, family and parental leave programs, professional development, cell phone reimbursement, and full-time employees start with 20 days of Paid Time Off (prorated). Eligible for a performance bonus. The salary range for this position is $118,000 - $135,000. This position is located in New York City.
