Position Summary:

The Director of Business Development plays a crucial role in spearheading and executing strategic planning initiatives for the organization while identifying and pursuing potential acquisition targets to bolster the company's growth strategy. This position entails managing a team, addressing complex challenges, persuading stakeholders to embrace change, and effectively communicating with executive leadership. Additionally, this role supports the formulation and implementation of both mid-term and long-term departmental objectives that align with the overall organizational goals.

This role is remote but requires frequent travel.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Research: Conduct comprehensive market analysis to pinpoint potential acquisition targets within the home care sector. Utilize diverse resources and tools to gather pertinent information on companies, including their financial health, market positioning, and cultural compatibility.
  • Opportunity Development: Create and sustain a strong pipeline of acquisition prospects that align with Help at Home's growth ambitions. Actively seek and assess potential targets, evaluating their alignment with the company's vision and strategic objectives.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build and nurture relationships with key stakeholders, including owners, executives, and advisors of target organizations. Clearly communicate Help at Home's value proposition and acquisition strategy to foster trust and collaboration throughout the acquisition process.
  • Industry Monitoring: Keep abreast of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and market changes to identify new opportunities and potential risks. Provide strategic insights and recommendations to senior management based on market intelligence and competitive analysis.
  • Timely follow-up on leads.
  • Maintain a comprehensive database of all development and outreach activities.
  • Formulate strategic market plans and initiatives to facilitate acquisitions in targeted market segments.
  • Identify key customers and develop strategic partnerships.
  • Generate strategic direction from market insights and create compelling market analysis presentations.
  • Monitor and evaluate current market trends to identify opportunities.
  • Initiate strategies to ensure sustainable profitability for the company.
  • Review and assess the current operational strategies of the organization.
  • Prepare presentations for prospective clients.
  • Engage in other business development initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, or a related discipline is required.
  • An MBA or advanced degree in Business is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Business Development roles.
  • Prior experience in developing and executing strategic plans is essential.


Essential Skills:

  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to cultivate and maintain relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proven history of successfully identifying and engaging M&A/partner targets, preferably within the healthcare sector.
  • Strong strategic and analytical capabilities, with the ability to assess complex business opportunities and financial documents.
  • Robust problem-solving skills; capable of managing conflicts professionally.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both externally and internally across all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence (BI) tools.
  • Familiarity with Project Management software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Monthly travel; frequency may vary based on business requirements.
