Job Summary

Amentum is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director of Business Development to lead our business growth initiatives. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to drive business growth, identify new opportunities, and build strong relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development and Growth Strategy
    • Develop and execute business growth strategies to drive revenue growth and expand our customer base.
    • Identify new business opportunities and develop plans to pursue them.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
  • Capture Management
    • Lead capture teams to develop and execute winning proposals.
    • Develop and manage capture plans, including market research, competitor analysis, and pricing strategies.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful proposal development and submission.
  • Proposal Development and Management
    • Develop and manage proposal teams to create high-quality, winning proposals.
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop compelling proposal content.
    • Ensure proposal compliance with client requirements and Amentum's policies and procedures.
  • Client Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
    • Develop and execute strategies to retain and grow existing client relationships.
    • Collaborate with sales teams to identify new business opportunities.
  • Team Leadership and Development
    • Lead and manage high-performing teams to achieve business growth objectives.
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge.
    • Collaborate with HR to develop and implement talent management strategies.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or Marketing.
  • Experience
    • 10+ years of experience in business development, capture management, or a related field.
    • Proven track record of driving business growth and developing winning proposals.
    • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Skills
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and projects.
