Position Overview:

Eaton's Electrical Services & Systems Division is seeking a dedicated Power Systems Automation Engineer. This role is primarily remote, with significant travel requirements. A company vehicle will be provided for travel purposes.

Compensation:

The anticipated annual salary for this position ranges from $65,250 to $95,700. Please note that this salary range is a general guideline and may vary based on individual skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market conditions.

Eaton's Electrical Services & Systems team delivers a wide array of services designed for every phase of a power system's lifecycle, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. Our expertise guarantees that power systems remain safe, efficient, reliable, and current.

The Power Systems Automation (PSA) group functions as a comprehensive systems integrator, equipped to merge essential equipment and technologies, thus providing a holistic power automation solution. Our engineers and technicians possess extensive knowledge and experience with various leading HMI software packages, enabling the design of user-friendly operator interfaces that leverage both standalone and web-based technologies. Our proficiency spans numerous equipment manufacturers, software solutions, and network architectures, including all major OEMs HMI, PLCs, and components. We emphasize single-point responsibility, high engineering and systems integration expertise, and a unified focus on cost-effective solutions, seamless integration, HMI development, energy management tools, and professional turnkey system design and implementation.

• Implement on-site Power Management and mission-critical monitoring and control systems, including Brightlayer, Foreseer, Power Xpert, PowerNet, and next-generation Power Monitoring platforms (with travel to customer sites estimated at 75%).

• Provide engineering support and consultation to clients in system integration, installation, start-up, maintenance, repair, training, and modification of power management, control, and mission-critical systems.

Qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Science, or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Power Management, Power Control, Mission Critical, or Building Management systems.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
  • All candidates must reside within a specified radius of the designated work location. No relocation assistance will be provided. Active-Duty Military Service members are exempt from this geographical limitation.
  • Possess and maintain a valid and unrestricted driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of experience in data center operations.
  • 3+ years of experience with power management software.
Skills:

• Successfully adhere to company safety programs and policies.

• Comply with periodic customer-required background and drug screenings.

• Experience in commissioning electrical equipment.

• Proficient in HMI software and power monitoring software packages.

• Familiarity with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, SNMP, OPC, DDE, TCP/IP.

• Strong computer skills, particularly with Windows Operating Systems and Databases.

• Solid networking skills, including troubleshooting network hardware and interfaces such as Serial, Ethernet, and Fiber.

• Knowledge of power quality meters, trip units, protective relays, and UPS systems.

• Proficient in using test equipment and diagnostic instruments for automation and power management systems.

• Understanding of troubleshooting, testing, and repair techniques.

• Advanced knowledge of the company's and competitors' automation and power management systems and services.

• Awareness of safety precautions related to automation and power management systems.

• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers, sales personnel, and team members on a technical level.

• Proven ability to provide service and represent company interests in developing customer relationships for long-term satisfaction.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
