Position Overview:
As a Senior Engineer specializing in Risk Assessment and Management at Enbridge, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the policies and protocols for the Risk Management Component of our Integrated Management System (IMS) and operational regions.

Your Responsibilities:

Risk Evaluation:
  • Facilitate the management of operational risks through the creation of risk registers, conducting risk identification sessions, and performing Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRAs) in collaboration with the Risk Analysis & Diagnostics team.
  • Assess various risks impacting financial stability, safety, operational reliability, environmental concerns, and reputation, working closely with subject matter experts to provide recommendations for effective risk mitigation.
  • Lead the normalization of risk-to-value assessments, integrating uncertainty to aid in resource allocation decisions regarding risk treatments.
  • Promote integrated risk-informed decision-making (IRIDM) through cooperative efforts with IMS Programs, Operations, and Asset Class Management.
Risk Control:
  • Utilize QRAs to assess the effectiveness of IMS Protection Programs and their associated threat management strategies.
  • Drive the implementation of Asset Integrity Core Processes and other critical risk-related decisions.
Governance of Risk:
  • Develop and uphold Risk Management policies, procedures, and governance documentation.
  • Establish and refine risk tolerance criteria.
  • Conduct periodic governance reviews and relay findings to leadership.
  • Prepare an annual Risk Governance report detailing significant risks, control performance, and suggestions for ongoing improvement.
Leadership Role:
  • Provide training on updates within the Risk Management program.
  • Collaborate to enhance risk management processes and methodologies.
  • Mentor and motivate team members and external consultants, overseeing their work based on specialization.
  • Communicate complex technical results and methodologies clearly to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to industry publications and technical reports to advance the field.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant technical experience.
  • Strong analytical skills for addressing technical challenges independently.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in diverse teams.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for conveying technical information.
  • Familiarity with Process Hazard Analysis techniques, including HAZOP and FMEA.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree in Engineering or an MBA.
  • Experience in Risk Management, Asset Management, and Asset Integrity Management within the Oil & Gas sector.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards.
  • Experience with risk analysis tools and programming languages.
Working Conditions:
  • Primarily office-based with occasional fieldwork.
  • Exposure to various environmental conditions.
  • Must meet regulatory deadlines.
