Position: Service Sales Support Coordinator

Location: Stuart, FL

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Total Hours/Week: 40.00

Shift: 1st Shift

Monday to Friday with flexible hours post-training, initial schedule starts at 8:30 AM – 5 PM.

Job Overview:

Purpose of the Role:

  • To confirm new patient insurance coverage and to re-confirm existing patient insurance coverage for eligibility regarding medical supplies and billing.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct verification and documentation of new patient insurance coverage and coordinate costs for supplies to communicate to patients and billing departments.
  • Re-confirm existing patient insurance coverage to ensure accurate communication of repeat order costs and eligibility.
  • Engage with insurance carriers to request prior authorizations as necessary for patients requiring approval before obtaining medical supplies.
  • Handle special verification projects for newly contracted insurance plans and audit patients who may be affected.
  • Ensure verification of insurance coverage complies with HIPAA and regulatory standards.
  • Make outbound calls or utilize online portals for providers.
  • Communicate internally with Sales Operations or Medical Billing Operations regarding insurance eligibility for both new and existing patients to facilitate sales or acquire further medical documentation.
  • Interact externally with patients to clarify information related to their insurance benefits and its implications for their medical supply purchases.
  • Continuously develop and maintain knowledge of medical terminology, billing practices, and insurance guidelines.
  • Identify and resolve insurance verification issues professionally.
  • Track daily production and submit logs to the direct supervisor.

Reporting Structure:

  • No supervisory responsibilities.
  • Provides work direction only.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED; one to two years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills Required:

Language:

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret medical supply publications, technical procedures, and training materials. Proficient in writing business correspondence and effectively presenting information.

Mathematics:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Intermediate math skills are required.

Reasoning:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and handle various variables. Capable of interpreting a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Advanced analytical reasoning skills to forecast workflows and consider external factors.

Computer Skills:

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Applications, Access, or other database software.

Telecommunications:

  • Knowledge of call center telecommunications software.

Certifications:

  • No certifications required.

Performance Metrics:

  • Demonstrated ability to complete one (1) insurance verification every 9-11 minutes on average, maintaining an error rate of 3.5% or less each quarter.
  • Production and quality standards are subject to management discretion and may change without prior notice.

Work Requirements:

  • Willingness to work some evening shifts, weekends, and overtime as necessary.
