Job Summary

The Part-Time Intake Specialist, Adult Education plays a crucial role in supporting the effective operation of the Adult Education program at Indian River State College. This position responds to inquiries regarding Adult Education ESOL/GED class schedules and fees, and meets with students to ensure a smooth experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provides exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff, responding to inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Schedules clients for the CASAS/TABE Assessment and facilitation appointments, ensuring seamless coordination with adjunct instructors.
  • Maintains accurate records and files, adhering to confidential information policies and ensuring compliance with college regulations.
  • Assists in maintaining department files and records, providing support to adjunct instructors with electronic attendance tracking.
  • Contacts students with excessive absences, promoting student engagement and success.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from a regionally accredited institution; or Associate's degree.
  • Computer Literate, with proficiency in keyboarding skills.
  • Customer service experience recommended.
Working Conditions

This position requires an ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, lift, reach up, stoop, and carry items occasionally in excess of twenty-five (25) pounds. It also requires manual dexterity to operate standard office machines, such as copier, fax, calculator, and other equipment as necessary.
