The role of the Cloud Security Architect will position you as a pivotal member of our team, acting as a technical authority in cloud security solutions. You will be instrumental in designing, securing, and delivering tailored solutions to both clients and internal stakeholders, utilizing best practices in API and SDK.

This position demands a high level of technical expertise and hands-on involvement, requiring you to maintain a deep understanding of Palo Alto Networks' cloud-based offerings. You will play a key role in enhancing our cloud products to maximize customer satisfaction and success. Collaborating with Product and Engineering teams, you will advocate for improvements driven by customer feedback, while also providing education and support to enhance customer onboarding and retention.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage as a Cloud Security Architect within the Customer Solutions Engineering and Professional Services Team, collaborating closely with Product Management and Engineering.
  • Primarily support post-sales initiatives by showcasing our capabilities in delivering customized cloud security projects, while also assisting in pre-sales demonstrations when necessary.
  • Develop highly automated solutions addressing real-world challenges in securing cloud workloads, leveraging a combination of products and cloud services to ensure optimal outcomes for customers adopting cloud strategies.
  • Document business requirements, propose solution designs, and guide projects from prototype to launch.
  • Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering on the development of new products and features.
  • Exhibit thought leadership in cloud computing across various platforms, becoming a trusted advisor to key decision-makers.
  • Build global knowledge and expertise in cloud security implementations.
  • Create and maintain a training framework for cloud products.
  • Develop a repository of intellectual property.
  • Mentor and develop team members as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or equivalent experience.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, capable of inspiring enthusiasm and commitment.
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience securing workloads across Azure, Google Cloud, and AWS; relevant certifications are advantageous.
  • At least 5 years of experience in scripting and automation using languages such as Go Lang, Java, Ruby, or Python.
  • A minimum of 3 years of multi-cloud scripting experience, preferably with Google Cloud Functions, Azure Functions, and AWS Lambda.
  • Solid understanding of API design, HTTP specifications, REST, JSON, XML, JavaScript, TLS, and certificates.
  • Experience leveraging API/SDK in Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery environments (Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with Swagger for building and updating SDKs.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards (e.g., CIS, HIPAA, PCI, NIST-53, ISO) and their relevance in public cloud environments.
  • Experience configuring Identity and Access Management with a least privilege model.
  • Ability to secure data in transit and at rest across multiple cloud providers.
  • Knowledge of Data Loss Prevention strategies across various cloud platforms.
  • Experience securing serverless workloads.
  • Proficiency in conducting incident response and forensics.
  • Established credibility with senior executive teams in enterprise settings.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring within organizations.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Comprehensive understanding of cybersecurity concepts, best practices, and current threats to our digital landscape.
