About the Role

The Business Development Manager is a key position within the Georgia-Pacific organization, responsible for driving sales growth and optimizing business performance in the digital graphics market. This role requires a high degree of self-motivation, a passion for excellence in packaging print processes, and exceptional customer focus.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to drive growth in the trade market, leveraging digital print solutions to enhance customer offerings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, while expanding the client base through effective communication and account management.
  • Collaborate with internal resources to tailor unique solutions that meet the challenges and needs of clients, bringing about a competitive advantage.
  • Monitor industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to identify opportunities and adjust strategies accordingly.
  • Attend industry events and trade shows to establish new business contacts and add to the potential client database.
  • Establish pre-qualification and client selection criteria to ensure meaningful assessment of new client potential and attractiveness.
  • Support the marketing team in developing marketing and communications initiatives related to trade market expectations.
  • Accurately develop, forecast, and close trade-related opportunities, ensuring all new contacts, opportunities, and projects are added to the CRM and managed accordingly.

Requirements

  • Experience in paper-based packaging, sales, account management, and manufacturing of corrugated products.
  • Working knowledge of flexographic, lithographic, and digital print, including graphic design, prepress, and printing processes, especially related to packaging applications.
  • Flexible to travel approximately 30-50% of the time by air, car.

What Sets You Apart

  • Experience managing high graphic digital, flexographic, or lithographic print opportunities from first contact to proposal writing and project initiation.
  • Advanced understanding of graphic design, prepress, file management, color management, and print processes, as well as package structure design and converting processes.
  • Experience working for a packaging or hi-graphics related vendor/supplier with a solid understanding of their procurement, supply chain, and marketing/brand group functions.
  • Experience in executing complex business development projects requiring cross-functional collaboration both internally and externally.

Compensation and Benefits

This role is eligible for a competitive salary range of $100,000 - $130,000 per year, with variable pay opportunities. Our benefits plan includes medical, dental, vision, flexible spending and health savings accounts, life insurance, ADD, disability, retirement, paid vacation/time off, educational assistance, and may also include infertility assistance, paid parental leave, and adoption assistance.
