Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Development Manager to join our Marketing team, supporting the Intellectual Property department. This role will involve developing and implementing business development plans, identifying opportunities for current and potential clients, and building brand awareness for the firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to promote the firm's services and align with client objectives.
  • Work closely with department chairs, practice group leaders, and industry team leaders to create and execute business development strategies.
  • Provide business development coaching and support to lawyers, helping them develop their individual business development plans.
  • Assist with the development and management of practice group and industry team marketing budgets, ensuring a strong return on investment.
  • Conduct ongoing marketing research, competitive intelligence, and analysis to provide attorneys with a deep understanding of the competitive landscape.
  • Collaborate with the Proposal Team to develop relevant content and positioning for pitch materials, proposals, and RFP responses.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A college degree and 5+ years of experience in legal marketing.
  • Excellent writing, editing, communication, project management, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Strong computer proficiency, including knowledge of CRMs and marketing databases.
  • Significant business knowledge and experience, with a strong client service attitude.
  • Prior law firm experience supporting IP practices is required.
