About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Operations Manager to lead our Self-Perform Operations (SPO) unit and staff. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and promoting operational excellence while supporting projects and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the SPO unit and staff, ensuring the highest level of performance and productivity.
  • Operational Excellence: Develop and implement strategies to promote operational excellence, including the integration of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) principles and Building L.I.F.E. principles.
  • Business Planning: Develop and implement a business plan for the SPO unit, aligning with the overall business unit (BU) plan and strategy.
  • Profit Plan: Apply the business plan to develop and implement an annual Profit Plan, in alignment with the General Manager (GM) and establish an evaluation process to achieve stated goals.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics, and compliance requirements throughout the SPO BU and associated projects.
  • Networking and Collaboration: Create an internal network to maximize opportunities for SPO to service BU prime projects and clients, and bridge SPO and BU Preconstruction departments to share and contribute trade expertise.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Promote the philosophy of 'One Turner' to communicate, collaborate, and support BU, clients, and company objectives.
  • Performance Evaluation and Career Development: Lead strategy for progression and succession of SPO staff, produce and communicate performance evaluations and career development strategies.
  • Risk Evaluation and Contract Negotiations: Provide leadership in risk evaluation, contract negotiations, fee, and pricing decisions, and collaborate with GM to support final decisions.
  • Financial Management: Establish and maintain procedures to protect financial assets, oversee and approval of all financial reports, and ensure compliance with company policy and timely reporting of known risks.
  • Physical Asset Management: Establish and maintain procedures to protect physical assets, guide capital asset processes and procedures for procuring and liquidating physical assets, and ensure ethical standards with management of physical assets.
  • Community and Professional Involvement: Participate in community and professional organizations with assistance and involvement by business unit senior staff.
  • Process Implementation: Implement Turner Tools and Process in SPO BU, including SAP, T4, Profit Plan, Lean, and BIM.
Qualifications
  • Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited and credentialed degree program and 10 years of Building Construction experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Industry Knowledge: Thorough understanding of the Commercial Construction industry and participating markets.
  • Self-Perform Operations Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Self-Perform Operations (SPO) unit specific scopes of work and trades.
  • Leadership and Management Skills: Drive to learn, take on additional responsibilities, and build teams, with leadership and ability to establish and execute a course or plan.
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills: Interpersonal and relationship building skills, professional verbal and written communication skills, and active participation in construction industry professional organizations.
