The Manufacturing Operations Manager is tasked with ensuring the smooth and effective functioning of the production facility. This role encompasses the supervision of daily operations, staff development, management of resources, adherence to budgetary guidelines, enhancement of productivity, and compliance with safety, quality, and risk management protocols.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø Safety and Compliance: Uphold a safe and organized plant environment, fostering an injury-free workplace for all personnel through proactive engagement, training, and risk mitigation strategies.
Ø Operational Leadership: Direct and oversee the facility's operational framework, working closely with colleagues in Supply Chain, Logistics, and Procurement to fulfill customer demands. Strive for continuous improvement in safety standards by addressing both physical and behavioral safety aspects.
Ø Production Oversight: Strategically plan and manage production and maintenance activities to optimize asset utilization. Develop initiatives to reduce manufacturing expenses through efficient use of personnel, equipment, and materials.
Ø Continuous Improvement: Propel the achievement of organizational goals and production timelines, ensuring product quality surpasses customer expectations. Implement production methodologies that align with the facility's strategic objectives.
Ø Environmental and Regulatory Management: Supervise the facility's adherence to environmental regulations, establishing protocols to ensure compliance and fostering relationships with regulatory agencies.
Ø Cultural Development: Promote a workplace culture centered on safety, efficiency, accountability, and customer focus. Encourage employee participation in ongoing process enhancements to improve cost-effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Ø Accountability and Performance Management: Define responsibilities across all departments for safety, problem resolution, and cost management. Advocate for the adoption of innovative techniques and data-driven decision-making.
Ø Budget Management: Oversee financial expenditures in accordance with budgetary limits and adjust as necessary based on production fluctuations. Enhance staff utilization within existing frameworks.
Ø Project Oversight: Ensure meticulous planning, design, and execution of capital and operational projects in line with site strategy. Supervise the upkeep of site infrastructure to maintain optimal operational performance.
Ø Collaboration with Leadership: Regularly engage with senior leadership to confirm that production targets and business objectives are achieved. Manage direct and indirect reports by aligning them with core values, establishing performance standards, conducting evaluations, and facilitating professional growth.
QUALIFICATIONS
v Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related discipline (MBA preferred).
v Over 5 years of experience in a senior management position within a manufacturing or production setting.
v Demonstrated leadership capabilities with a proven ability to mentor, manage, and motivate teams in a collaborative environment.
v Strong analytical skills coupled with excellent interpersonal and communication capabilities, with a history of achieving business outcomes.
v Capacity to effectively manage competing priorities and lead a team towards success.
v Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
v Exceptional time management and multitasking skills.
v High emotional intelligence in managing interactions with customers and employees.
