Job Summary

The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Personnel Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Human Resources department, you will play a critical role in supporting the administration of our personnel management programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform complex analytical work in the administration of personnel management programs, including classification and pay, hiring assistance, recruitment, allocations, reporting structures, position justifications, and special projects.
  • Serve as a point of contact and liaison between assigned directorates and Human Resources.
  • Analyze issues, reason logically and creatively, develop a course of action, and make recommendations to meet customer needs.
  • Support and promote a positive work environment and productive relationships with all staff in an ethical and professional manner.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality and work closely with all levels of management.
  • Provide consultation on a wide variety of personnel-related subjects and attend staff meetings and training classes.
  • Interpret and explain civil service law, rules, and procedures, and represent the agency at meetings and conferences.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality.
