Job Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on leave programs, Civil Service Pay Scales, Pay Letters, and payroll to support the California State Payroll System (CSPS) Project.
  • Research, advise, write, and revise CalHR policies based on laws, rules, and memorandum of understanding.
  • Collaborate with the Personnel Services Branch (PSB) Manager and Personnel Program Manager II to develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Consult with departments and the CSPS team on PSB functions, including pay scales/pay letter redesign, program changes, policy changes, and policy recommendations.
  • Develop process flow documentation and potential redesign recommendations for PMD/PSB's interactions with the State Controller's Office (SCO) related to PSB functions.
Requirements
  • Experience related to the State of California employee leave programs, including resources used to research employee entitlements to the various leaves.
  • Experience researching, writing, and implementing Human Resources policies.
  • Experience gathering and presenting information to management for policy decisions.
  • Experience supporting diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

This position is eligible for a pay differential that is 5% of the monthly base pay rate.
