Lead Financial Operations for a Visionary Housing Authority

Are you prepared to steer the financial strategies of an organization committed to fostering affordable housing solutions? We are collaborating with an innovative Housing Authority in Utah, in search of a proactive Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to guide their Finance Department towards future success.

As this organization expands, it requires a strategic financial leader to propel its mission. Reporting directly to the Deputy Executive Director, you will manage all financial operations, formulate long-term strategies, and ensure the fiscal health of a swiftly growing real estate portfolio.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Drive Financial Excellence: Utilize your knowledge of Federal Housing Programs to guarantee adherence to HUD regulations and GASB accounting standards.
  • Strategic Guidance: Shape organizational strategy by providing insights on investments, financing, and long-term planning.
  • Team Leadership: Inspire, mentor, and develop the finance and accounting team, cultivating a culture of growth and achievement.
  • Financial Reporting: Oversee the preparation and dissemination of financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate updates for key stakeholders.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Manage all budgeting, forecasting, and auditing processes to maintain financial stability and promote growth.
  • Project Financial Support: Assist in the preparation of funding applications and financial reports, ensuring compliance and cash flow for various initiatives.
  • Risk Management & Compliance: Establish and uphold a comprehensive risk and compliance management framework.
  • Innovative Financial Reporting: Propel advancements in financial technology, including dashboards and key performance indicators.
  • Procurement Management: Ensure all acquisitions align with procurement policies and procedures.

Qualifications for Success:

  • Educational Credentials: A Master's degree in accounting, business, public administration, or a related discipline.
  • Professional Experience: A minimum of eight years in financial management or a comparable blend of education and experience.
  • Technical Proficiency: Expertise in financial management systems, with a focus on cash forecasting, budgeting, internal auditing, and administrative controls.
  • Industry Insight: Profound understanding of property management, tax credits, and federal housing programs.
  • Communication & Leadership Skills: Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities, with a proven history in leadership, staff development, and team building.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, with advanced proficiency in office and accounting software—experience with YARDI is advantageous.
