Job Overview

The Senior Financial Accountant plays a crucial role in the Accounting Department, overseeing various accounting functions and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This position requires a detail-oriented individual capable of managing multiple tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain Accounting Integrity: Verify and document all financial transactions to ensure accuracy.
  • Data Analysis: Compile and analyze financial data to support decision-making.
  • General Ledger Management: Oversee the general ledger, including account setup and posting.
  • Month-End and Year-End Support: Assist in closing processes, ensuring all tasks are completed as per the checklist.
  • Revenue Recognition: Prepare month-end billings and record revenue in compliance with GAAP.
  • EDI System Management: Upload billing information into required third-party systems.
  • Cost of Goods Sold Entries: Prepare entries related to products sold at month-end.
  • Intercompany Transactions: Record and reconcile transactions between affiliated entities.
  • Reconciliation Tasks: Conduct month-end reconciliations between subledgers and the general ledger.
  • Financial Statement Review: Analyze internal financial statements and investigate discrepancies.
  • Tax Audit Support: Provide assistance during sales and use tax audits.
  • Internal Controls Improvement: Evaluate and enhance internal controls and procedures.
  • Audit Documentation: Prepare necessary documentation for audit processes.
  • Confidentiality Maintenance: Uphold the confidentiality of all organizational information.
  • Additional Duties: Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA track is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of general accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger procedures.
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Navision or similar accounting software is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of data integration between systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Willingness to learn new systems utilized in daily operations.
