The Facilities Maintenance Specialist performs essential services and repairs in plumbing, carpentry, painting, electrical work, interior finishes, and appliance servicing. This role requires knowledge of industry procedures and safety standards. Candidates should possess at least 6 months to 1 year of relevant experience. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in a broad maintenance field is necessary. The position relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and achieve goals. The specialist must identify, troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance issues to meet established standards. This role reports to a supervisor or manager and operates under immediate supervision, requiring a degree of creativity and flexibility. Teamwork is essential, and tasks will be assigned by a supervisor or the Chief Engineer. Strong problem-solving skills and excellent face-to-face communication with guests are crucial. The ability to follow written instructions and complete documentation related to unit maintenance is also required.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate in a team environment to conduct inspections, repairs, and prepare guest units. Assist guests and staff in resolving maintenance concerns, complaints, and inquiries.
- Support the preventative maintenance team in preparing the property for guest arrivals.
- Execute general maintenance tasks as directed by the manager or supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of serviced units and work performed.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by Engineering Leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least 6 months to 1 year of experience in building maintenance or construction.
- Preferred experience in resort and/or hotel maintenance.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Ability to perform skilled work in general maintenance.
- Proficient in painting, tiling, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical work.
- Knowledge of troubleshooting for telephone and TV signals.
- Ability to problem-solve and repair major appliances.
- Familiarity with hand and power tools and a mechanical aptitude.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and effective guest communication abilities.
- Ability to follow written instructions and complete maintenance documentation.
- Must meet company-required motor vehicle policy standards.
- Must be at least 18 years of age with a valid US driver's license and a minimum of 1 year of driving experience.
