Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Relationship Manager to join our team. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with commercial clients, identifying new business opportunities, and driving growth through needs-based selling techniques. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial banking, excellent communication and presentation skills, and the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain strong relationships with commercial clients, identifying new business opportunities and driving growth through needs-based selling techniques.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders to send and accept referrals for new and expanded relationships.
- Participate in joint business calls with product specialists from other business lines within Sandy Spring Bank and its subsidiaries.
- Develop loan business with new and established clients, working closely with assigned Commercial Portfolio Manager and Small Business Lending Unit to negotiate and structure loan transactions.
- Meet expectations in generating non-interest income for the company through the sale of fee-based products.
- Generate new deposits through needs-based selling to new business prospects and existing business clients.
- Partner with Commercial Portfolio Manager and Small Business Lending Unit to be mindful of loan delinquencies and/or future payoffs, and to grow the loan portfolio to increase interest income for the company.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Broad professional-level knowledge and expertise in commercial banking with an emphasis on credit and lending principles.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a commercial lending environment, with a strong track record of sales success in business development.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to consider alternative courses of action and their consequences.
