Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of School-Age Care, the School-Age Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing and managing the Before and After School Program as well as Summer Camp staff during operational hours. This role involves organizing and supervising all staff and Summer Camp activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee, mentor, and assess School-Age and Summer Camp personnel during program hours.
  • Maintain regular communication with Youth Leaders and Assistants.
  • Ensure compliance with the standards outlined in the School-Age Care training manual and directives from leadership.
  • Advocate for and integrate the YMCA mission, core values, and developmental assets into all programs and events.
  • Continuously enhance all school sites and Summer Camp Program offerings, implementing new and improved curricula as suggested by leadership.
  • Uphold a professional representation of the YMCA within the facility and the broader community.

Impact and Outcomes:

  • The community will recognize the Two Rivers YMCA as a key resource for School-Age Care services available to youth and families.
  • Program quality will be enhanced through ongoing evaluations.
  • All facilities, activities, and events will be adequately supervised and staffed to ensure high-quality programming.
  • Participants will gain a deeper understanding of the YMCA mission and values and how they can contribute.

Supervisory Duties: Responsible for supervising approximately 30+ part-time or seasonal staff and volunteers, ensuring their overall direction, coordination, and evaluation. Responsibilities include training staff, planning and assigning tasks, assisting with performance evaluations, and addressing any issues that arise.

Qualifications: A minimum of fifteen college semester hours and at least one year of experience or training in childcare; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have at least one year of experience working with youth.

Certifications: Completion of a background check, Child Abuse Prevention training, CPR/AED/First Aid certification for all age groups, Bloodborne Pathogens training, and other required certifications in accordance with state and federal regulations. Must complete TB testing and medical exams as necessary.

Skills and Abilities: Must maintain a safe driving record and provide proof of a valid Driver's License and current vehicle insurance.

The role requires the ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
