About the Role

The Child Welfare Specialist - Foster Care is a critical position at Bethany for Children & Families, responsible for providing case management social services to children, youth, or families assigned to their caseload. This role requires a deep understanding of child welfare and a commitment to supporting vulnerable populations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective case plans to address the needs of clients, in collaboration with the Supervisor and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive case records, submitting required reports and providing statistical data as needed.
  • Provide regular updates to the Supervisor on clinical issues, service delivery, and critical issues requiring supervisory consent or referral source authority.
  • Develop and utilize knowledge of agency and community resources to support established case plans and individual client needs.
  • Be readily accessible to clients for meetings, adapting to their schedules or contract requirements.
Requirements
  • Possess a Bachelor's Degree in social work or a human services field.
  • Have two (2) years of social service experience.
  • Meet all regulatory requirements for employees of Child Welfare Agencies, including successful completion of required background checks and certification as a driver of children.
  • Provide own transportation, with a valid driver's license and acceptable insurance coverage.
  • Maintain a flexible schedule in response to program needs or caseload assignments.
  • Exhibit sensitivity and responsiveness to cultural differences in the community.
  • Be able to lift 30 lbs and physically attend to young children and infants.
