This role also safeguards the company from potential liabilities through prudent engineering judgment.Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical assistance as required.
Responsibilities may include:
- Engaging in face-to-face, telephone, and electronic communications with territory sales representatives, strategic business personnel, sales managers, contractors, designers, specifiers, or regulatory officials
- Producing accurate written communications with customers (both buying and non-buying); such communications must be technically precise, minimize Hilti's exposure, and demonstrate effective problem-solving skills
- Conducting site visits to assess application challenges and opportunities, providing technical education and solutions, with or without sales personnel
- Analyzing product failures in the field and offering feedback to product management regarding local issues as necessary
- Exploring business opportunities in the field by participating in customer surveys for product and market development
- Contributing to local sales strategy formulation and participating in sales management review and improvement sessions
- Delivering professional educational seminars and presentations for A/E firms to inform them about Hilti products, their performance characteristics, applications, and limitations
- Offering sound recommendations to engineers, architects, and other designers on specific applications using informed engineering judgment; educating specifiers on the technical advantages of Hilti solutions not covered by test data
- Conducting field tests to ascertain appropriate capabilities in scenarios not addressed by test data
- Reviewing project specifications or calculations for engineers and architects; providing constructive feedback to designers regarding accuracy, suitability, and compliance with codes
- Utilizing Hilti-provided software to maintain precise records of contacts and specifications; coordinating with the salesforce to ensure key opportunities are maximized
- Creating and managing jobsite information within the CRM system using Hi Site; this includes establishing specific jobsites, applications, and active participation in monthly sales management meetings
- Communicating application specifications with the design community to the sales team via the CRM system, assigning tasks and action items to relevant Account Managers for converting specifications into sales
- Maintaining and updating a regional database of designers, influencers, and code officials; collaborating with local/regional code and approval agencies to secure necessary approvals
- Understanding construction methodologies and local building codes as they pertain to Hilti products
- Providing insights on technical approvals and reports related to Hilti's offerings
- Actively participating in local organizations within the design and construction community, such as CSI, ASCE, and the Structural Engineer's Association
Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Structural or Civil Engineering is required; a Master's degree (technical or business) is preferred
- Familiarity with construction methods and practices is preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in an engineering/construction role is preferred
