Position Overview

Audubon Companies is in search of a skilled Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Engineer III to contribute to our engineering efforts. The I&E Engineer III will undertake assignments related to the design and development of equipment, components, structures, and systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare comprehensive specifications for project tasks, outlining client performance expectations, specific component requirements, design parameters, relevant design codes, and vendor drawing standards.
  • Create engineering sketches, conduct calculations, and develop analytical models for moderately complex projects.
  • Review and approve vendor drawings to ensure alignment with project specifications.
  • Engage effectively with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and other consultants.
  • Establish realistic expectations and ensure project completion within designated timelines and budgets.
  • Adhere to quality standards and follow engineering review and approval protocols.
  • Comply with all health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards set by the company and clients, as well as applicable federal and local regulations.
  • Actively participate in hazard identification and observation initiatives, promptly reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents.
  • Collaborate with the drafting/design team to develop and review engineering drawings.
  • Conduct site visits to assess project requirements and conditions.
  • Inspect vendor facilities to verify equipment compliance with specifications.
  • Prepare inquiries and purchase requisitions, along with bid tabulations for equipment procurement.
  • Perform checks on engineering drawings and calculations.
  • Focus on safe design practices while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Manage workload, budgets, and project resources, seeking assistance when necessary.
  • Serve as the Engineer in Responsible Charge as assigned, adhering to regulations regarding PE sealing requirements for designated projects.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering is required.
  • Degree from an ABET Accredited Institution is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
  • PE license is required.
  • Field experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • Experience with SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI), Control Valve Sizing, Meter Sizing, and Relief Valve Sizing software is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the design of instrumented control and safety systems is preferred.
  • Knowledge of instrument and electrical design codes (ISA, NEC, API, etc.) is preferred.
  • Ability to make informed decisions and take actions to resolve issues or achieve objectives.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills related to work challenges.
  • Ability to comprehend instructions and seek clarification when needed.
  • Capability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and direct projects to successful completion.
