Position Overview:


The Electrical Hardware Engineer is responsible for the research, design, testing, troubleshooting, and documentation of electrical and electronic systems utilized in industrial robotic internal pipeline equipment.

This role requires collaboration with the Production and Operations teams to address technical challenges encountered during the assembly, testing, or operation phases of electrical and electronic systems.


Reporting Structure:

The Electrical Hardware Engineer will report directly to the Electrical Engineering Manager.

Supervisory Role:

None

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Create and evaluate circuit boards, wiring diagrams, and cable harnesses.
  • Conduct circuit analysis.
  • Generate documentation and prepare reports, manuals, specifications, and testing procedures.
  • Ensure compliance of equipment manufacturing, construction, installation, and operation with functional specifications and production standards.
  • Troubleshoot defective electronic components and systems.
  • Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.

Qualifications:
To be successful in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Education and Experience:


A Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or training.

Proficiency in PCB Design, including familiarity with industry-standard practices for schematics, board layouts, specifications, tolerances, and Gerber files. Experience with KiCad is preferred.

Experience in testing and troubleshooting electronic systems from board to system level, including both bench and field testing.

Knowledge of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, power supplies, and DMMs. Ability to solder surface mount components.

Experience in wiring diagram and cable harness design.

Ability to perform circuit analysis, both manually and using SPICE.

Experience with DC motors and controls, particularly H-Bridge design, testing, and troubleshooting.


Language Proficiency:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical documents and procedures. Strong technical writing skills for creating reports, manuals, specifications, and testing procedures. Capability to effectively present information and respond to inquiries from management, clients, or customers.

  • Analog/digital video expertise
  • Control system design experience
  • Proficiency in C / C++ programming
  • Test fixture design capabilities
  • Knowledge of wireless communications
  • Familiarity with SolidWorks
