Job Summary

The Equipment Fleet Coordinator will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and directing the operations of equipment for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs, and equipment use on job sites. This position will act as a technical advisor on all equipment issues and assist the management team with equipment budgets and potential equipment purchases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and track equipment on a daily basis by job site, type, and use.
  • Maintain a dispatch board or log sheet to ensure accurate tracking and record-keeping.
  • Prepare purchase orders for rental equipment and track each piece of rented equipment by job site and job number.
  • Coordinate repairs and maintenance with mechanics and generate purchase orders for repairs or required maintenance.
  • Purchase tools and supplies needed for equipment or work crews, ensuring compliance with company policy and accounting systems.
  • Issue purchase orders in accordance with company policy and accounting systems.
  • Provide management with a budget analysis of rentals and repairs, highlighting areas for cost optimization.
  • Prepare a monthly budget report for branch management, outlining fixed and controllable equipment costs as a percentage of sales revenue.
  • Reconcile vendor accounts at the end of the month to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to ensure compliance with company safety policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate training sessions for new equipment with operators as needed, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
  • Update DMV registration and current insurance for equipment, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of related equipment and financials highly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • High level of computer skills in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with fingers.
