Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fleet Maintenance Supervisor to join our team at C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of our fleet equipment, ensuring that our vehicles are in top condition to meet the demands of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise the daily maintenance and repair needs for fleet equipment, ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
  • Oversee on-site third-party repairs, coordinating with vendors and ensuring that all work is performed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Review and plan for day-to-day fleet equipment needs, ensuring that our vehicles are properly equipped to meet the demands of our business.
  • Manage the upkeep of fleet equipment and maintenance, ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and repaired.
  • Control expenses for parts, labor, outside labor, and tires for fleet and warehouse facilities, ensuring that our maintenance budget is managed effectively.
  • Supervise job assignments, productivity expectations, and measurement, disciplinary actions, and training of employees and/or oversight of similar professional standards for third parties.
  • Maintain a safe work environment and ensure that all safety and industry regulations are followed.
  • Knowledge of an automated Fleet Management Information System and MS Office.
  • Work within OSHA standards.
  • Responsibility for maintaining a 7-day work schedule for all shifts and/or managing third-party maintenance schedules to accommodate business needs.
  • Support other duties as assigned.
  • Participation in annual performance appraisals, including shift productivity, repair quality, shop safety audits, repair documentation, employee development, shop organization and cleanliness, preventive maintenance standards and goals, and safety training for all maintenance employees.
Requirements
  • Five or more years of Fleet Supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations.
  • The ability to multi-task to manage time and effectively meet all specified and implied deadlines.
  • Strong employee relations skills and the ability to lead and supervise a team.
  • The ability to react to problems and come up with solutions quickly.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, as this position will interact with other company employees, departments, and vendors.
  • Strong negotiating skills.
  • Ability to work with other departments for problem-solving.
