POSITION OVERVIEW
The Ski School Operations Manager is accountable for the coaching, training, scheduling, daily assignments, management, and assessment of SnowSports instructors and support staff. This role also involves overseeing group and private lessons and addressing any customer inquiries or issues. Interaction with the public, management, and all company personnel is essential. All Managers are expected to possess knowledge and be able to assist fellow SnowSports Supervisors, collaborating effectively with all departments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage daily operations, including scheduling, assignments, evaluations, coaching, and disciplinary actions for SnowSports School instructors.
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, effective communication, active listening, adaptability, flexibility, dependability, problem-solving, critical thinking, and troubleshooting.
  • Oversee and lead both on-snow and off-snow training clinics.
  • Address and resolve customer concerns or complaints effectively.
  • Maintain positive interactions with the public, management, and all employees.
  • Assist the SnowSports School Training Manager in administering in-house training programs.
  • Facilitate collaboration between headquarters, ticket office, and instructors.
  • Support clinic organization and coordination during all line-ups.
  • Review incident reports and assist the safety coordinator.
  • Conduct daily and weekly supervisor meetings and prepare preliminary operational budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills while maintaining positive relationships with guests and staff.
  • Serve as a consistent role model for the company's Service Excellence Standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and guest relations skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Technical expertise in skiing and/or snowboarding instruction.
  • Ability to adhere to all safety protocols.
  • Proficiency in computer applications.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND

  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • PSIA-AASI Certification, Children's Specialist, and other relevant accreditations are preferred.

The salary range for this position is reflective of the compensation offered by Steamboat Ski and Resort Corporation. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, education, training, location, and responsibilities.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Ability to ski/ride on diverse terrain and in challenging weather conditions throughout the day.
  • Assist guests/students who may have fallen.
  • Capability to lift up to 25 lbs. (including equipment).

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Indoor/Outdoor: Employees may be exposed to varying outdoor weather conditions while performing job duties.
