Chief Pharmacy Officer - Strategic Leader

OU Health is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to serve as the Chief Pharmacy Officer. This key role will be responsible for developing and executing pharmacy services strategies that align with the organization's mission, vision, and values.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute pharmacy services strategies that align with the organization's mission, vision, and values.
  • Lead the development of an operational plan to effectively manage and continuously improve pharmacy operations.
  • Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and other stakeholders to develop goals and objectives.
  • Ensure system consistency and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Develop and enforce policies, standards, and regulations related to medication management.
  • Identify and lead the implementation of strategic initiatives to achieve cost savings.
  • Provide expertise on 340B Program legislation and policy changes.
  • Assess opportunities for cost savings and system improvements.
  • Participate in projects, councils, and special initiatives related to the 340B Program.
  • Implement business plans to expand and improve care provided to underserved and vulnerable populations.
  • Monitor outpatient points of service to identify new areas that may qualify for the 340B Program.
  • Provide oversight for process improvement initiatives.
  • Establish operational plans that support the overall goals and strategies of OU Health.
Requirements:
  • PharmD degree from an accredited college of pharmacy required.
  • 7 to 10 years of progressive leadership experience required.
  • Experience in operations management and extensive knowledge of integrated health care delivery models.
  • Licensed or ability to gain licensure as a Pharmacist by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy within 6 months of hire date.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA or Master's degree in healthcare administration.
  • Certificate as a preceptor by the Oklahoma State Board of Pharmacy when eligible.
Key Qualities:
  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations governing pharmacy services and 340B programs.
  • Excellent leadership skills.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and create enthusiasm within a team.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficient in the use of Excel, Word, and Power Point.
