Overview
Oversees and manages the administrative, financial, regulatory, compliance, and marketing functions of transplant services. Takes charge of the comprehensive administrative supervision of services provided to all kidney, kidney-pancreas, and pancreas transplant patients, along with the formulation of departmental policies, procedures, standards of practice, and performance enhancement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Formulates and supervises the budgets for the transplant section and program.
  • Responsible for the management and oversight of the organ acquisition segment of the Medicare cost report, ensuring systems and processes are established to optimize cost capture while adhering to Medicare regulations.
  • Manages contracts with various payers, including updating and negotiating these agreements, identifying new networks, and fostering strategic relationships with key administrative leaders in the payer community.
  • Directly supervises all personnel within the Transplant Surgery section, including hiring, daily oversight, and termination when necessary, with a focus on orientation and continuous education regarding section policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that all personnel involved in the care of transplant patients receive proper orientation and ongoing education about program policies and procedures.
  • Oversees the daily operations of the transplant program.
  • Develops, manages, and maintains the program's policies and procedures, ensuring compliance within the section.
  • Responsible for the oversight and management of the program's quality assurance and process improvement initiatives, setting goals, collecting data regularly, reviewing it, and making decisions for enhancements.
  • Reports quality and volume data of the program to various regulatory bodies and insurance payers.
  • Handles ongoing marketing activities for the section.
  • Acts as a representative of the Transplant Program, both internally and to external agencies.
  • Performs additional duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree with 5 years of relevant healthcare experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a transplant program management role.
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Business, or Health Administration is preferred.
  • Strong leadership and communication abilities, with a capacity to collaborate effectively with physicians, staff, and hospital departments.
  • Familiarity with the reporting, compliance, and financial intricacies of transplant services is advantageous.
