Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Nutritional Services Coordinator to oversee and enhance our dietary programs at NEW BEDFORD MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS INC. This role is essential in ensuring that our residents receive optimal nutritional care tailored to their individual needs.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and assess the operations of the Dietary Department and its initiatives.
  • Collaborate with various departments, including Nursing and Social Services, to ensure cohesive dietary services.
  • Conduct inspections of food storage and preparation areas to maintain quality and safety standards.
  • Develop corrective action plans for any identified deficiencies in dietary services.
  • Contribute to the dietary aspects of residents' discharge plans.
  • Engage with residents and their families to gather dietary histories.
  • Maintain records of residents' food preferences to enhance meal satisfaction.
  • Assist in creating and evaluating regular and specialized diet menus as per medical directives.
  • Review and ensure compliance of therapeutic diet plans with physician orders.
  • Collaborate with administration and medical staff to plan effective food service programs.
  • Ensure cleanliness and sanitation in all dietary service areas.
  • Recommend necessary equipment and supplies to the Dietitian and/or Administrator.
  • Manage inventory levels of food and supplies to ensure adequate availability.
  • Participate in vendor interviews and assist in procurement of food service supplies.
  • Develop comprehensive dietary care plans addressing residents' nutritional needs.
  • Foster a collaborative environment with all team members involved in resident care.

Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in nutrition or dietetics from an accredited institution.
  • Current registration as a Dietitian in the state.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a healthcare setting, such as a hospital or skilled nursing facility.
  • Training in cost management, food service operations, and dietary therapy.
  • Proficient in English, with strong communication skills.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and handle various situations with tact and professionalism.
  • Exhibit patience, a positive attitude, and enthusiasm when interacting with residents and staff.
