Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors, ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality customer service to patients, families, and visitors, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Register patients for appointments and procedures, ensuring accurate and complete information is collected and entered into our systems.
  • Validate insurance eligibility and collect co-payments as necessary, ensuring compliance with our policies and procedures.
  • Assist with financial counseling and clearance, providing patients with clear and concise information about their financial responsibilities.
  • Work collaboratively with our clinical teams to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient use of resources.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient access or registration, is highly desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
