We are seeking a highly skilled Patient Access Representative to join our team at Virginia Commonwealth University Health Systems. As a Patient Access Representative, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service to patients, families, and visitors, ensuring a positive experience throughout their visit.
Key Responsibilities- Provide quality customer service to patients, families, and visitors, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Register patients for appointments and procedures, ensuring accurate and complete information is collected and entered into our systems.
- Validate insurance eligibility and collect co-payments as necessary, ensuring compliance with our policies and procedures.
- Assist with financial counseling and clearance, providing patients with clear and concise information about their financial responsibilities.
- Work collaboratively with our clinical teams to ensure seamless patient flow and efficient use of resources.
- High school graduate or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in patient access or registration, is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and electronic medical records systems.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
This position requires the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with frequent interactions with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
