The Rental Account Manager is responsible for devising collaborative solutions within a designated territory while advocating for all facets of Butler Machinery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the rental of both new and pre-owned machinery, products, and attachments within the assigned territory.
  • Ensure comprehensive coverage of the designated territory and/or clientele for specific equipment rentals and sales through regular communication, including office visits, job site interactions, phone calls, direct mail, and other suitable methods in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to assist them in identifying appropriate equipment solutions, offering professional guidance as needed.
  • Effectively manage and optimize sales territory by prospecting, identifying, and qualifying potential clients in person and via phone, arranging presentations to establish new accounts.
  • Develop new accounts and meet activity benchmarks for assigned accounts.
  • Expand territory through cold calling targeted customer segments and following up on leads generated by the company.
  • Achieve proficiency in the use of the company’s CRM system to document customer information, ownership records, customer interactions, and other requested reports.
  • Maintain awareness of competitors and various construction phases to identify potential sales opportunities.
  • Foster familiarity with clients' operations and business needs.
  • Possess strong knowledge of the markets served by our clients, focusing on general construction, landscaping, residential and commercial construction, industrial sites, and manufacturing.
  • Stay updated on product developments for items represented, as well as competitors' offerings.
  • Prepare quotes, pricing, credit terms, and contracts.
  • Assist in the collection of overdue accounts.
  • Participate in training sessions, sales meetings, and industry trade shows.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver customer solutions and provide an industry-leading customer experience.
  • Deliver rental equipment during routine job site visits when necessary.
  • Handle after-hours and emergency calls as needed via company-provided phone.
  • Complete and manage all necessary documentation and paperwork.
  • Adhere to Butler's mission statement and core values in all activities.

Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn local customer practices and the agriculture and construction industries.
  • Prior knowledge of agricultural and construction equipment is preferred.
  • Experience in sales and rental environments is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, transactional business setting is preferred.
  • Capability to understand and communicate basic financing options to clients.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated self-motivation and accountability.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational abilities.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Must maintain a clean driving record.
  • CDL is preferred or willingness to obtain one.
