Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the rental of new and pre-owned machinery, products, and attachments within your assigned territory.
  • Ensure comprehensive coverage of your territory and maintain regular contact with customers through office visits, job site visits, phone calls, direct mail, and other appropriate methods.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to provide suitable equipment solutions and offer professional advice as needed.
  • Optimize sales territory by identifying and qualifying potential customers through in-person meetings, phone calls, and presentations to establish new accounts.
  • Develop new accounts and meet activity targets for assigned accounts.
  • Engage in proactive outreach to potential customers and follow up on leads generated by the company.
  • Become proficient in the company’s CRM system to document customer information, track activities, and report on rental/sales outcomes.
  • Stay informed about competitors and various construction phases to identify sales opportunities.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of customers' operations and business needs.
  • Possess strong knowledge of the markets served by our customers, focusing on general construction, landscaping, residential and commercial construction, industrial sites, and manufacturing.
  • Keep updated on product information for both our offerings and those of competitors.
  • Prepare quotes, pricing, credit terms, and contracts.
  • Assist in the collection of overdue accounts.
  • Participate in training sessions, sales meetings, and industry trade shows.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver customer solutions and an outstanding customer experience.
  • Deliver rental equipment during regular job site visits when necessary.
  • Handle after-hours and emergency calls as needed.
  • Complete and manage all necessary documentation and paperwork.
  • Adhere to Butler's mission statement and core values in all actions.
Qualifications:
  • Willingness to learn about local customer practices and the agriculture and construction industries.
  • Prior knowledge of agricultural and construction equipment is preferred.
  • Experience in sales and rental is advantageous.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, transactional business environment is preferred.
  • Capable of understanding and communicating basic financing options to customers.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exhibit strong self-motivation and personal accountability.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational abilities.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • Maintain a clean driving record.
  • CDL certification is preferred or a willingness to obtain it.
