Position Overview

PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center is seeking a dedicated Clinical Exercise Physiologist to join our Cardiac Rehabilitation team. This is a Full-Time, 0.90 FTE, Day position. The compensation for this role is competitive and varies based on qualifications and experience.

Key Responsibilities

As a Clinical Exercise Physiologist, you will play a crucial role in delivering direct patient care for individuals engaged in cardiac, pulmonary, and vascular rehabilitation programs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive initial assessments and interviews to gather patient medical histories and formulate tailored treatment plans for rehabilitation.
  • Managing the entire cardiac rehabilitation process for individual patients, including implementing and adjusting therapeutic programs while maintaining accurate clinical documentation.
  • Creating safe and effective exercise prescriptions for a diverse patient demographic with various co-morbidities, while collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.
  • Providing guidance to patients regarding test outcomes and procedures, and educating them on home exercise routines and lifestyle modifications.
  • Designing and executing educational initiatives for patients and their families.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of wellness programs and community health events.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or a related field is required; a Master's Degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in a related field is preferred, with at least 2 years in cardiovascular rehabilitation services.
  • Current licensure and certification as mandated by state regulations.
  • Certification as a Clinical Exercise Physiologist or Registered Clinical Exercise Physiologist is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification from an accredited organization is required upon hire, with Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification needed within one year.
  • In-depth knowledge of cardiac rehabilitation phases and advanced understanding of exercise physiology and cardiovascular disease management.
  • Proficiency in ECG and arrhythmia recognition is essential.
